Good news of one ship on trial

On August 21, No.2 16,000TEU container ship built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) was delivered to Mediterranean Shipping (MSC).

YoungBo Lee, Newbuilding Manager of MSC Far East, Mr. Lin Feng, Deputy General Manager of CSBC, Mr. Lin Jiming, Mr. Zhang Guobao, leaders of Dalian Shipbuilding and other relevant officials attended the ceremony. Ms. Lee named the vessel "MSC VIVIENNE".

Ship type profile

The ship has overall length of about 366 meters, beam of 51 meters, depth of 30.2 meters, design draught of 14.5 meters and structural draught of 17 meters, and can carry 16,520 standard containers. It has class symbols such as LNG-READY, enhanced fire fighting and one-person steering to maximize the ship's green, energy-saving and environmental protection as well as the safety and economy of operation. The ship is of conventional fuel type, equipped with open and closed dual-mode desulphurization system, one independent scrubber tower each for main engine and generator, and double-island arrangement at the front and rear, which is suitable for unlimited navigation area. The main engine is equipped with high-pressure SCR denitrification and hybrid scrubber desulphurization and other green environmental protection systems, which can satisfy the requirements of the latest norms and rules and the various pollutant emission standards, and it is a full-life-cycle green ship that satisfies the energy-saving and environmental protection requirements in every stage of the ship, from the design to the operation to the ship-breaking process. It is a green ship in the whole life cycle from design to operation to dismantling.

During the construction of the ship, the design department and the production department fully absorbed the experience of the first ship construction, continuously optimized the design and improved the construction method, and achieved the projects such as the end of the test box in the dock and the power generation motor vehicle with the guidance of improving the production efficiency and shortening the construction cycle, and the goal of carefully planning and paying close attention to the process forward and the integrity of each stage. In the process of sea trial, the project team and the second department of the dockyard reasonably arranged the test project, set up a temporary party branch for sea trial, all the party members and cadres went into the field to organize the inspection, and finally the test results of the ship's speed, fuel consumption, EEDI and other test results meet and better than the design indexes, which were highly praised by the owner and the ship inspector and the ship's early delivery has opened up a good beginning for the second half of the year's production of Dalian Shipbuilding.

On the same day, No.3 16,000TEU container ship built by DSIC Tianjin for MSC completed the sea trial node three days ahead of schedule.

Before the trial , DSIC Tianjin Trial Pilot Command organized all the participating departments to preview the trial voyage process, continuously optimize the trial voyage plan, and make risk prediction in advance to ensure the orderly connection of the delivery and inspection projects. At the same time, it formulated the work plan of "taking the main propulsion system as the main line, interspersed with auxiliary test projects", and steadily pushed forward the trial voyage projects. During the trial voyage, the Trial Command combined the technical characteristics of closed desulfurization system, axle generator and bubble damping system with many test items and complex interfaces, and divided the test items into grid, and interspersed them with the regular trial voyage items to save a lot of time for the trial voyage. After the sea trial verification, the ship's speed and fuel consumption reached or better than the design indexes, and all the test items passed at one time. It only took 7 days to complete the three major system sea trial projects, and the sea trial task was completed beyond expectation.
